What Are Your Beliefs?

I recently found this link on my BDMGE (best damn moms group ever) board. I thought, hmmmm... let's see what's up here. There are twenty questions. Very interesting, and for me, very interesting results.

Basically, the quiz asks you some questions about your religious beliefs and then tells you which religion those beliefs most agree with. So choose the answer that most agrees with what you actually think, not what you THINK you SHOULD answer.

Go take the quiz, then lets talk. I'll share my results, too, but want to hear from you first!

I'm off now to clean house play with Play Doh, then to the gym to work out the kinks left after nine hours of consignment sale work. Yes, work, not shopping. Volunteer, unpaid work. But I didn't buy one thing. I'm so proud of myself!!!

Good for you! I haven't worked out in so long it's scary (about a week ago when I 'started' Fit Tv's Namaste Yoga!), but I am recording Shimmy and Namaste Yoga, and hope to do them if I can ever breathe again.

I don't think I could go to a thrift store and walk out without anything!

Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestan 100%... which includes Evangelical Christians... totally makes sense.

Crazy cool. I didn't know anything about Quakers really until I went to a Quaker college... and my top result was 100% orthodox Quaker!
93% Seventh Day Adventist... uh, sorry, not so much. This is where the disclaimer about not necessarily agreeing with all the beliefs even if you did on this quiz comes in!
91% Mainline/conservative Christian
Thanks for the link!

It said Universal Unitarianism (100%) which is a bit of a coincidence really, becasue that's what I am.

Huh. Not too surprising how my results came out. LOL

1. Nontheist (100%)
2. Secular Humanism (100%)

My top three are...
1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2. Liberal Quakers (93%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (86%)

That fits as I am a Methodist, and most of the folks in our congregation are quite liberal.

1. Reform Judaism (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (90%)
3. Liberal Quakers (88%)
4. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (85%)

Completely fascinating. I was raised Methodist, confirmed Episcopalian. Can't wait to have hubs take this.

I did this quiz last year and my answers haven't changed from what I can recall:

1. Mainline to Liberal Protestant (100%)
2. Liberal Quakers (96%)
3. Reform Judaism (91%)

23. Roman Catholic (39%)..what I actually am, though that I'm really not in line with them is not surprising. I won't even get into what I think of Catholics at the moment, at the risk off offending your Catholic readers.

I was a little surprised that Jehovah's Witness came in at 66%. Belive me, I would not practie any religion in which I could not celebrate my children's birthdays or any holidays.

I'm interested in seeing what you scored.

Hmmm...I guess Catholic schools from kindergarden thru college made an impact. ;)

I've checked into the Quakers in my area and there are only 12 of them and ten of them are one family. So I guess I'll stay Catholic! I like the liturgy even if I don't always agree with the politics!

I am completely surprised by my results! Reform Judaism, huh. I was raised baptist! I truly am amazed I will be sending this out in an email to see how others come out.

I went back to have another look at my list, there are religions I have never heard of listed as pretty high in my list. When looking at how they believe, I found I do not believe what they believe. I am shocked at some of them. I have never thought of myself as a modern quaker.

I didn't even have to finish to know that it would have told me Seventh Day Adventist. This is what I grew up and I found myself answering these questions with what I was taught as a child... I really need to re think some things.

Thanks for giving me something to do while I'm on lockdown :o)

You know mine said Jewish which is a shocker since I am not and know nothing about it. And if you think I'll eat gifelte fish now you can think again. I also know you are always late because of your Universal Unitarianism tree hugging. Isn't that what UU's do? Uh-oh, I've outed you.

I used this site a lot when I taught religion in high school. They have some very useful resources. I wish I had my results from when I took it years ago. Off to take it again now...

Here are my top three. Very interesting. A bit surprising. I will have to look into this further.

1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (89%)
3. Reform Judaism (82%)

I don't get the Quaker one, but the 2nd one makes sense. :)

hmmm. i came out 100% reform judaism. is this a surprise?

uh. no. ;-)

I was Liberal Quaker (100%)
Bahai (98%). I looked it up, and there are 8 people in Birmingham that are Liberal Quakers. Is that even enough people to have a church?

Mine was
1. Secular Humanist
2. Unitarian Universalist
3. Therevadra Buddhist

But you already knew that!

Bren said...

Ok, mine was 96% Seventh Day Adventist which couldn't be further from correct. Maybe I should do this again when I'm awake...

Totally weird because I went to a Quaker church when I was REALLY little, I'm talking preschool years. I guess I'm doing good though I do go to the Catholic church and it was in my top 5.

I was 100% Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestant. Which I think is pretty accurate.
