Life in the Fish Bowl

welcome

Fun Monday

This week's hostess is Robin at Pensieve. Here's our assignment:
Shoes tell a lot about a person and we wanna delve deeply into your soul sole. Photograph your favorite pair--or pairs--of shoes and tell us a little about why they're near and dear to your toes heart (I can't wait to see how Swampy ties this in to Breast Cancer Awareness!). Follow in Jenny's footsteps and make a foot-family portrait...show us your baby bronzed booties...let us see the shoes YOU HAD TO HAVE (but have never worn)...or all those grotesquely dyed-to-match formerly white satin bridemaid's shoes that were worn ONCE...the reinforced steel-toe boots that saved your big toe from being hacked off in that industrial "accident"...or, just take pictures of your nekkid feet--gnarly bunions, twin toes, or perfectly OPI-pedicured tootsies.
I'm not one of those women who is obsessed with shoes, so you won't be seeing anything exciting here today. You certainly won't see photos of my feet. Those would be more appropriate for a Halloween post so I'll spare you the horror.

Since it is fall and since I am preparing to reenter the working world, I've pulled out my favorite cool weather shoes for you today. I guess these things need to be dusted off, polished and readied to pound the pavement for that nightmare dream job.

My particular field of endeavor was/is cost accounting. I've always worked at manufacturing locations and therefore have become the owner of quite a few pairs of steel toed work shoes.
Not a very good photo, but I wasn't about to take all of those heavy, dusty things down.

My favorite ones are my insulated high top boots because they remind me of the winters in Massachusetts which I miss so much. Seriously. I love cold weather and snow and you can stomp around in the snow for hours in these things and your tootsies stay toasty warm! Plus if someone were to decide to drop a big barrel of chemicals on your toe? You'd be a little bruised, but still have toes!

For work, and for everyday, too, I love boots. If I ever were to get excited about shoes it would be about boots. Here are a couple of my favorites

These are also pretty comfy. And yes, I realize they're not boots.
My favorite shoes ever really should be retired. See that big scuff on the toe? It's from my big tumble down the stairs. Those black marks on the wall?

Ok, they aren't there anymore because we finally had the hole fixed and the walls painted. But underneath there? The toe of my favorite shoes.

In all honesty, most days I wear one of these pair of shoes
I'm a stay at home mom, after all. My kid has blue crocs and if he wears his he expects me to wear mine. And all you croc haters out there? Bite me. Crocs rock.

Punkin is also animal crazy which is why I have the animal print house shoes. Normally I do wear either two crocs or two house shoes, but that gremlin who keeps messing up my house obviously hid the mates to those pictured because I can't find them anywhere.

That's it for me. Go check out the other Fun Monday participants.

And have a fun Monday!

Love the sassy boots young lady, and how clean are your shoes.
Did you polish them to look all shiny and beautiful for their web shots or are you always this good.
I feel so ashamed. Hee hee.

I keep seeing "Robin" places and I'm like, "But I haven't commented yet." I swear, I "know" more Robins in cyberspace than in real life...

Anyhoo...YOUR POST, YOUR POST...

I like my Crocs, too--when they first came out I had a crush and HAD to get some! Your "bite me, Crocs rock" comment gave me the biggest smile of the day!

I think I have a pair of black boots just like your brown ones; they're amazingly comfortable. I haven't started wearing boots yet this fall, but it's about time to pull 'em off the top shelf :).

Love those animal print slippers, too...I just wear socks in the winter...:/

Thanks for playing along!

OUCH! That tumble looked painful.

I used to have steel-toed boots too for work. I loved them. (I got rid of them 6 months ago in my big closet clean-out because I hadn't worn them for 6 years, so decided they needed to go.)

Oh my gosh. Your favorite shoes ever? Those are like MY WINTER STAPLE shoes. You know, because we don't really have winter here. We have summer. That's our winter. And then we have H.E. Double L, and that is May through September. But I saw those shoes and I thought about the matching pair I have sitting in my closet, waiting for their third season of wear. I have them in black AND brown. They go with everything.

OK, I normally don't get this excited about shoes, because honestly, I'm not a shoe horder (is that even a word?), but when you find a pair that works, they REALLY work!

So like, yeah, your favorite shoes are very similar to my favorite shoes. :P

Your walls look like ours half the time and everytime I repair it, someone else gashes it up. I'm so glad you're ok!

I have crocs too, love them!

I so need a new pair of fall shoes....

HEY when did you sneak in my house and take that photo of my stairs? huh huh? Crocs do ROCK!!!
So the black marks on the walls were from the toe of your shoe as you tumbled down? I see the post link for the fall will read it...
Great collection of shoes!!
